Your Actor may stop unexpectedly if it reaches its Maximum charged results or Maximum cost per run. This guide explains how to configure your Actor to continue scraping right from where it left off, so you don’t miss a thing.
Setting run limits
If you use a pay-per-results or pay-per-event Actor, you can set limits to control the number of results you are charged for or the maximum cost of a run.
By default, if no specific limits are set under Run options, the No maximum limit toggle is switched on. Even with this setting, a limit will apply based on the available credits in your account.
For pay-per-results Actors, this limit is called Maximum charged results. For pay-per-event Actors, it is called Maximum cost per run.
Reaching run limits
You can check the limit set for any run by opening the run and checking Maximum results or Maximum cost per run there.
Each Actor handles these limits differently. For example, a run might show a "Succeeded" status but indicate in the run log that it stopped because "Maximum results were reached". Other Actors might fail and display an error message, like this:
If the limit has been reached, you can resurrect the run to continue scraping. However, you must increase the limit on resurrect, or the run will stop immediately after it starts.
How to increase limits when resurrecting a run
To make the Actor continue scraping from where it left off, increase the Maximum results when Resurrecting the run. Follow these steps:
Ensure you have sufficient credits: If you have a platform subscription, you may need to increase your platform limit
Open the run
Click Actions > Resurrect in the upper-right corner
On the Resurrect tab, click Options
Increase Maximum charged results or Maximum cost per run
Click Resurrect
By following these steps, your Actor will continue scraping exactly where it left off.
